今年の「いわきさん」は、今までにないユニークなスタイルに挑戦しました。
クラフトビールを飲み始めた頃からずっと気になっていた**スプルースチップ（松の新芽）**をついに使う機会が訪れました。
Kyoto Brewing Companyさんのご協力で、北海道産のフレッシュなスプルースチップを入手することができたのです。

一般的にはIPAやホップの効いたペールエールに使われることが多い素材ですが、あえて低アルコールのミルクスタウトで使ってみることにしました。
その結果、カラメルやシングルオリジンチョコレートのような甘くロースティなボディに、ほんのり松のような香りやフローラルな爽やかさ、冷感のある後味が重なり、ユニークかつ飲みやすい仕上がりになりました。

Iwakisan no Natsu

Milk Stout with Spruce Tips – Summer Limited

Our summer version of Iwakisan takes a bold new turn—one we’ve never tried before. Inspired by years of curiosity around spruce tip beers, Gareth finally got the chance to experiment when Kyoto Brewing Company kindly helped us source fresh spruce tips from Hokkaido.

Rather than going the usual hop-forward IPA or pale ale route, we went in a completely different direction—a low ABV milk stout that allows the spruce tips to shine in a unique and subtle way.
The result is a smooth, slightly sweet stout with floral, piney, and gently cooling notes layered on top of roasted malts and single origin chocolate character.

This is a one-of-a-kind beer you may never come across again—if you're curious, don’t miss your chance!
