手話のラベルに想いを乗せた、ブラッドオレンジが鮮烈に香るジューシーなHazy IPA

「なにのむべ？」は、ビターオレンジピールと、大量のフレッシュブラッドオレンジを贅沢に使用して仕込んだ最新のHazy IPAです。ブラッドオレンジを使った醸造は少し久しぶりだったため、他のシトラスフルーツとは一線を画す、あの独特でフルーティーな甘酸っぱさを再び表現できることにワクワクしながら仕込みました。

ホップには、オレンジやトロピカルなキャラクターを極限まで引き出すため、Freestyle社の Waimea、Kohia Nelson、Pacifica、そして Motueka（Hop Kief）を厳選してブレンド。酵母には WHC Lab の "Haze Heaven" を使用し、南国フルーツのようなアロマをさらにブーストさせつつ、私たちの通常のHazy IPAよりも少しだけドライでキレのある、何杯でもおかわりしたくなる質感に仕上げました。

そして、このビールの最大のハイライトは「ラベル」です。 ラベルには、手話で「何飲む？」と問いかけるデザインが描かれています。その他にも、缶を眺めながら練習できるビールにまつわる手話がいくつか散りばめられています。

このアイデアのきっかけは、関西のイベントにいつも遊びに来てくれる、手話を使う熱心なファンの方々との出会いでした。普段はスマホの画面越しに言葉を交わしていますが、今回は彼らへの感謝を込めて、そして手話を使うすべてのビールファンが温かく繋がれるようにという想いを込めてこのデザインを作りました。 このビールを仕入れてくださる酒販店やビアバーの皆さんも、ぜひ一緒にお客さんと手話で「なにのむべ？」と問いかけ合って、楽しい乾杯の時間を共有しましょう！

Naninomube?

A blood orange infused Hazy IPA with a label dedicated to inclusivity and the joy of sign language

"Naninomube?" (Tsugaru dialect for "What are you drinking?") is our newest Hazy IPA, brewed with sweet orange peel and copious amounts of fresh blood orange. It’s been a minute since we last brewed with blood orange, and we were incredibly excited to bring back that distinctly complex, fruity tang that only blood orange can deliver compared to standard citrus fruits.

To complement the fruit, we went with an orange and tropical-forward hop bill featuring Freestyle Waimea, Freestyle Kohia Nelson, Freestyle Pacifica, and Motueka Hop Kief. For fermentation, we chose WHC Lab's "Haze Heaven" yeast to pump up the tropical esters while allowing the beer to dry out just a bit more than our standard Hazies, giving it stellar drinkability.

The most exciting and meaningful part of this release is the label. The can design features sign language illustrations demonstrating how to ask "What do you want to drink?" in sign language, alongside other fun, beer-related signs you can practice right there at the table.

This label was inspired by some of our dedicated fans in the Kansai area who use sign language. They always come out to support us at events, where we usually communicate back and forth using our phones. I wanted to create this label as a sincere thank you to them, and as a way to promote inclusivity for all sign language users in the craft beer community. To any bottle shop or taproom carrying this beer—let’s practice asking "What do you want to drink?" in sign language together!
